Just like tourists, French and foreign filmmakers have always had a soft spot for Paris.

Over the years hundreds of films have been shot on the iconic streets of the French capital from Stephen Frears' Dangerous Liaisons, to Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris and action movies like Paul Greengrass's The Bourne Ultimatum.

Now thanks to journalists from the website Rue 89 film buffs can find out exactly where certain scenes were shot thanks to a new interactive map.

The site was able to create the map, which for the moment only incudes films made between 2002 and 2008, thanks to information stored by Paris Town Hall.

In all around 600 movies both French and foreign, that have been shot in the capital have been projected onto the map.

The majority of the films featured at the 422 French-made movies but there also the 34 American movies that were shot in the capital during the time period.

It will make it easier for those tourists who have enjoyed visiting famous film locations like the Montmartre café that featured in the popular film Amélie.
