A politician on the Spanish island of Majorca has filed an official complaint about t-shirts distributed by a local nightclub which show a man shoving a woman to the ground with the caption, "Problem? No problem".

Fina Santiago, a member of parliament for the Majorcan eco-nationalist MÉS party has reported Oberbayern nightclub — on the island's famous Ballermann strip—to the department of tourism for their role in distributing t-shirts which she claims "incite gender violence".

The t-shirts show figures of a man and woman together with the caption, 'Problem?' alongside an image of the man pushing the woman to the ground and the caption, 'No problem".

Together with another MÉS politician and two local residents she has also filed a formal complaint at Balearic Institute for Women accusing the nightclub of breaking Spanish laws on sexual equality and gender violence.

Photos of the t-shirts were shared on social media by people unhappy with the message portrayed.

Oberbayern nightclub's Facebook page is exclusively in German and the venue caters mainly to German holidaymakers and ex-pats.

The promotional t-shirts are said to have been distributed in July and August.

According to the Spanish edition of the Huffington Post, Santiago claims that the t-shirts "clearly incite gender violence".

She said that they "identify women as a problem and depict that it's possible to get rid of them by slapping or pushing them."

Santiago demanded that authorities "use all legal means available to them to prosecute the promoter of these acts and that the t-shirts should be withdrawn immediately."

The complaint about the t-shirts comes weeks after another Majorca nightclub made international headlines as the epicentre of a 'sex for free drinks craze' known as 'mamading', from the Spanish word for oral sex.

A video of one incident showed an 18-year-old British holidaymaker performing performing fellatio on 24 men during the pub crawl.

The club where the incident occurred has now been shut down.
