Italian women kidnapped in Syria: report
Two Italian aid workers have been kidnapped in Syria, according to reports on Wednesday. The Italian foreign ministry has confirmed that two of its citizens are missing.
According to reports, Vanessa Marzullo di Brembate, from Bergamo, and Greta Ramelli, from Besozzo in the Lombardy province of Varese, were kidnapped in the northern city of Aleppo a few days ago.
The ministry confirmed in a statement published on Ansa that two Italian citizens were missing and a search was underway.
The women had been working on humanitarian projects in Aleppo since the end of July.
