Murder trial after brothel stabbing
A punter who got into a fight with a prostitute in Vienna is on trial for attempted murder after stabbing a security guard at a brothel in Favoriten.
The 29-year-old man had booked a 15 minute slot at the brothel in November, and paid €50. However, he said he was unsatisfied with the sex worker’s performance and wanted his money back. "She was very rude and aggressive towards me," the man told Vienna’s Criminal Court.
The 19-year-old sex worker said that she had broken off sexual intercourse with the man as he had been “too rough”, but saw no reason why she should return his money.
She said that he then became aggressive towards her and she pressed an emergency button to call security. She said that as soon as she had done this the accused became extremely angry and started shouting.
The 29-year-old man admitted that he had been angry, but said that this was because the prostitute had bitten his left nipple when he repeated his request for a refund.
He claimed that he had been pleased to see the security guard, who he recognised as heavy-weight fighter Attila Ucar, who is well-known in the Austrian martial arts scene.
However, he said that Ucar had punched and kicked him. "I feared for my life," he said. He added that he had tried to run away but Ucar blocked his way, "he stood there as if I was in the ring with him."
The accused claims that he took a folding knife from his pocket and stabbed Ucar in self-defence. The wounds were so serious that if Ucar had not received medical attention almost immediately he would have died.
Surveillance camera footage from the brothel did not show Ucar punching the accused.
