On Wednesday evening, the police station in Jakomini in Graz received an unusual visitor. A baby duck wandered in front of the station, apparently lost.

Despite an extensive search by police, no sign could be found of the duckling's mother, or its siblings, making it difficult to reunite it with its family.

A quick-thinking police woman, Inspector Vanessa Kandolf, brought the duck into the station, and gave it some food and water.

The duckling has been passed on to a Graz animal welfare organization that specializes in small wild animals in distress, known as „Kleine Wildtiere in großer Not“.
