Swedish spring on hold as rain approaches
Forget about another pleasant spring weekend, said Sweden's weather agency on Tuesday, predicting cloudy days ahead and a fair dose of rain going into the weekend.
Just when you thought it was safe to put away the winter clothes... Despite the recent warm weekend across most of Sweden, temperatures plummeted on Monday and look set to continue that way. "On Monday when the cold front moved in, temperatures dropped by 10C immediately in Uppsala," Linnea Rehn, meteorologist at SMHI, told the TT news agency. There will be a brief respite on Thursday, a public holiday, but Sweden's weather agency SMHI predicted that rain would sweep in from the east on Friday and hang around for the weekend.
