Swedish fast-food chain 'denies Roma men coffee'
Staff at fast-food restaurant Max told four Roma men that they couldn't buy coffee, because they were Roma.
The Metro newspaper on Friday reported that the four men tried to buy coffee and soda from the chain's outlet in Kista, northern Stockholm. Central management at Max confirmed that its staff had denied service to the four men, who were told the restaurant did not serve Roma customers.
"We have to repeat our policies to our staff. This is unacceptable and cannot be allowed to happen," Max spokeswoman Alexandra William-Olsson told Metro.
She said that Max would look into the incident more thoroughly before deciding on a course of action.
