A French seafood company recalled on Wednesday three batches of smoked salmon because they were contaminated with the dangerous bacteria listeria, which can cause a serious infection in pregnant women and older people.

Due to contamination with the dangerous bacteria listeria, a French seafood producer King Sea Food has recalled three batches of smoked salmon that was sold under five different brand names.

The brands were mostly sold in organic specialty stores and include: Bonneterre (organic), Fjord King, Loste, Nature Océane (organic) and Safa. They carried lot numbers 1513, 1523 and 1593  with an expiry date of up to April 30th.

Stores sold the salmon between March 19th and April 14th, until it was pulled from shelves, French daily Le Parisien reported. It wasn’t immediately clear if anyone was left sick by the fish.

Anyone with question can call King Sea Food at  01 48 53 77 54.
