The jobs in Sweden that make people unhappy
A new survey looking at how Swedes feel about their job has put one profession far down on the bottom rung of well-being in the workplace.
The members association Sveriges företagshälsor, which represents corporate healthcare providers but also some larger Swedish employers providing in-house healthcare, interviewed more than 4,000 people on how they felt about getting up in the morning and heading off to work.
Overall, Swedes feel worse and worse at work, and that slump holds true for most professions across the country.
"It's very much about feeling that you have control, and that your work has meaning," Sveriges företagshälsor CEO Lars Hjalmarsson told The Local. "We've seen something of downward trend for a few years, but this year showed a stronger downturn."
He underlined that the survey was based on subjective responses. For example, he was surprised to note that teachers complained more about noise than construction workers did.
"It's one hell of a racket in the classrooms, to put it bluntly," Hjalmarsson said.
