With southern Sweden bracing for the season's first big snow storm, The Local offers up some of the best (and worst) things about life with the white stuff.

Winter is coming, Sweden's forecasters have warned, in the form of a storm set to cover much of the country in a fresh blanket of white. Of course, plenty of snow has already been dumped in Sweden's northern regions, but perhaps not with the vengeance expected for this week's storm.

But regardless of whether the weather has yet to bring your boots and gloves out of the closet or your shovel from the shed, this being Sweden, snow will be an unavoidable part of your reality at some point or another during the winter months.
