The organizing committee for Madrid's failed Olympics 2020 bid is hoping to recoup some cash by selling off furniture and electronics items including phones and laptops.

The sale items are what remains of the Spanish capital's third consecutive failed bid to host the summer Olympic games.

The modest items include bar fridges, IKEA office chairs and even two clothes racks. On the IT front, the Olympics organizers are hoping to cash in by selling laptops for as little as €200 ($271).

This coat rack is a steal at €18.60

Among the items there is even a teleprompter, which Spanish business daily Cinco Días playfully suggested may have been used by Madrid mayor Ana Botella during her infamous bid speech in Argentina.

The items for sale are the remains of what Madrid promoted as a low-cost games.

Madrid's construction budget was set to be €1.9 billion against the €19 billion spent by London for the 2012 games.

But the International Olympics Committee announced in early September the 2020 games would be held in Tokyo.

The sale on 2020 goods runs until mid-December according to Cinco Días. More details are on the paper's website.
