Officers told keen techies they had to leave the city's Kurfurstendamm shopping street on Friday morning after a lone suitcase filled with cables and electronic equipment was spotted on the pavement.

Although drivers had to divert their journeys and shoppers put their spending on pause, dozens of Apple fans who had been waiting for the chance to buy a new iPad lost their spots in the queue.
They had to sharpen their elbows all over again when police re-opened the stretch of road.
Experts were called in to examine the silver suitcase, found between Meinecke- and Fasanenstrasse. They determined quickly it posed no danger and gave the all-clear.
