Weekend brings last of the summer sun
Summer shall grace Germany with one final hurrah over the weekend, with a high pressure system bringing warm weather for two more days.
After a dry afternoon on Friday, the night will be clear making way for an evening spent under the stars. Only in the far western regions of the country will there be a chance of storms and showers, national weather service the DWD confirmed.
Saturday will, after initial fog lifts, be sunny across the whole of Germany except for those unlucky enough to be in the far west, where it will be very cloudy. Highs will rest at around 22C along the North Sea coastline and a summer-like 30C in the eastern states.

As night sets in on Saturday, there will likely be further thundery showers in the west. The eastern side will be, at worst, covered in a thin blanket of cloud. Temperatures will be resonant with summer, dipping only as far as 17C in some places. Other areas, like the coast and mountains, will be nearer 7C.
Yet more cloud is expected for the west on Sunday, with a chance of showers thrown into the mix. In some places, this could develop into more prolonged spells of rain, and even storms.

The south and eastern states will be warmer and drier, with highs of between 24C and 28C. There should be very little wind.
With nightfall will come rain for the as-of-yet untouched eastern regions. With lows of between 8C and 15C, this will signal the beginning of the end for a long, hot summer.
