Brits seized for threats to paving clients

Two British travellers have been arrested in Bærum, Norway's richest municipality, for threatening clients of their paving business.
"They only accept cash and agree a sum with their clients, but then they demand more money," Torill Frogner of the Asker and Bærum police told Dine Pengar. "In this case the customer was not interested in paying any more, even though the work was not completed. Then it ended up with threats." Police have been warning people in Norway not to use contractors from British traveller families, who have brought their paving businesses to Norway in recent years, and who often avoid paying taxes. "We urge the public not to use the services of British paving contractors. This may ultimately be a criminal offence," Jan Egil Kristiansen, Norway's head of tax crime told Dine Pengar. "Last year their activity doubled, and this year we have seen even greater activity. We have identified between 50 and 60 British and Irish companies travelling around Norway."
