Swedish summer is back on track following this week's storms, with the national weather agency predicting a handful of warm and sunny days running into the weekend.

"There will be stable weather across the whole country through to Friday and Saturday. It will be warmest on Saturday," Marcus Sjöstedt, meteorologist at Sweden's weather agency SMHI, told the Aftonbladet newspaper.

"Then, we'll see temperatures in the north at around 20-25C and between 23 and 28C in the south."

The weather in Sweden has been wet and rainy over the past few days, with tornadoes hitting the south west coast and flooding in Gotland, an island off the east coast.

However, eastern Svealand and parts of Norrland won't survive too long before the rains return, according to SMHI, which predicted a few more rain clouds before the weekend.

"But when they're gone and a high-pressure system comes in, it will be properly sunny and the temperatures will climb," Sjöstedt told the paper.
