Germany's women's football team roared into the European Championship final for the eighth time on Wednesday night, in a 1:0 victory over host country Sweden.

The winning goal came from Dzsenifer Marozsan in the 33rd minute, concreting the team a place in the final on Sunday at 4 pm. If they win, it will be the eighth time they have bagged the title.

“Luckily I got it at the right moment and with a bit of luck, it went in,” said Marozsan after the match, which took place in Göteborg. “It was so nerve-wracking and stressful,” chipped in goalkeeper Nadine Angerer. “The team played so incredibly well today.”

Germany will face either Norway or Denmark on Sunday – with the two teams battling it out in the second semi-final on Thursday evening in Norrköping.

Trainer Silvia Neid told reporters that the teams are equal, giving away no preference to which one she would rather guide her women against. One thing was clear to Neid, though: “they absolutely wanted to chuck the Swedish out.”
