Security contractors in Norway have seen a near ten-percent annual increase in business since the 2011 terror attacks, five times the average growth of previous years.

The Norwegian security industry grew by ten percent in the first year after the attacks of 2011, in which 77 people lost their lives at the hand of homegrown terrorist Anders Behring Breivik.

The Dagsavisen newspaper reported on Thursday that the number of security guards in courts and in psychiatric institutions, among other facilities, had increased. The 9.8-percent increase is five times higher compared to the industry's growth numbers from the year before the attack.

"2012 saw bigger growth than previous years, and it looks like 2013 will have almost as high growth," Runar Karlsen, spokesman at the National Federation of Service Industries, told Dagsavisen.
