Spain's top porn star backs condom law
Spanish porn star Nacho Vidal is campaigning for a new law to be passed which will make the use of condoms compulsory in the country’s sex film industry.
Porn veteran Vidal, star of Sexcapades and The Sexual Messiah 2, is promoting the "safe and healthy sex" legislation act at Valencia’s Erotic Fair on Thursday.
The protégé of porn legend Rocco Siffredi is pushing for a similar law to that in France which bans unprotected sex in official porn films.
The County of Los Angeles in the United States also banned this practice in November 2012, although the online news site the Huffington Post reports that this move has only resulted in adult film makers looking at other set locations.
There are 150,000 people with HIV in Spain according to the UN Aids organization and 79 percent of those cases are sexually transmitted.
Vidal also told journalists at the sex fair that all production of his erotic toys range would take place in Spain to "help the country’s economy to keep afloat".
"Obviously I’ll earn less money like this," Vidal told Spanish press. "But money, much like size, is not what matters most."
Visitors at Valencia's Erotic fair, which opens to the public on Sunday, will get the chance to watch 1,200 live shows, chat with over 100 porn stars, receive massages and enjoy private dances from their favourite porn performers.
