Why isn't everyone wearing Lederhosen? It's easy for foreigners to stereotype Germany, but this week's Local List is dedicated to debunking common myths.

As fun as it would be to think Germans lived for drinking beer, driving fast cars and parading around in fancy leather shorts, these clichés do not do justice to life in the land of sausage. So we came up with a raft of commonly-held misconceptions about the Germans.

From flaunting the rules to getting a degree before the age of 30, we hope this week's list helps you to reconsider what you thought you knew about Germany and its people.
