One dead as road accidents mar Easter
A man died and another was seriously injured in separate road accidents in western Sweden on Saturday.
The man died of his injuries sustained in a crash as his car careered into a ditch near Tråvad in Vara in western Sweden on Saturday evening.
The cause of the accident has yet to be established. Police confirmed that the deceased man was driving a Finnish-registered vehicle.
Another man sustained serious head injuries in a single-vehicle accident in Skepplanda in Ale municipality near Gothenburg on Saturday night.
The driver was found outside the car after the accident and was taken by ambulance to Sahlgrenska Hospital in Gothenburg where he is being treated for injuries.
Six people were taken to hospital after two cars collided in Kalmar in southern Sweden shortly after 1am on Sunday morning.
Police have confirmed that the accident occurred on the E22 motorway close to the Berga exit in the vicinity of the Guldfågeln arena.
A total of eight people were travelling in the cars involved in the accident although media reports indicate that none of the parties had sustained serious injuries.
The cause of the accident remained unclear on Sunday morning and an investigation will be conducted on Sunday.
