Zlatan's PSG to play Real Madrid in Gothenburg
Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic and his French team Paris Saint Germain will tackle Champions League stalwarts Real Madrid in a summer friendly match in Gothenburg, organizers announced on Wednesday.
The game will kick off on July 27 at the Ullevi stadium in the western Swedish city.
"It's a dream come true to welcome Real Madrid to Sweden - no one knows when they will be back again," Affe Akbari, managing director of organizers Sport & Evenemang said.
Both clubs are still involved in the Champions League - with Real facing Turkish side Galatasaray and PSG up against Barcelona in next month's quarter-finals.
Last August Gothenburg played host to a friendly between Barcelona, and English Premier League giants Manchester United - the fixture ending in a goalless draw.
In a warm-up opportunity for the Parisian side, PSG will be hitting the turf in Stockholm in a friendly against the Stockholm side Hammarby. The game will take place on July 23rd at the Tele2 arena.
"It'll be an incredible football experience, especially as the crowd at the Tele2 Arena are so close to the field," Ninna Engberg, CEO of Stockholm Globe Arenas, said in a statement.
