The weather in Germany is currently offering a smorgasbord of snow, sun and rain meaning depending on where you are, you could get a tan or frostbite, Stern magazine reported on Sunday.

There is a 15C difference between the country’s lows and highs, in Freiburg daffodils are blooming at the markets, as temperatures are significantly higher than 10C.

While in Berlin, it continues to snow, according to the Berliner Zeitung in a weather story on Sunday. The snow is expected to continue at least until the evening and the streets could be slippery, the paper warned.

So far the weather has not caused any major transportation disturbances in the capital, except of course for the S-Bahn, which is notoriously unreliable when the weather gets cold. The S-Bahn interruptions this weekend, however, are due to planned construction, the paper said.

The cold weather seen in the north is however expected to arrive in the south later in the day on Sunday. Many parts of the country will experience rain.

The German weather service DWD could not say when spring will return. “That’s up to the stars.”
