Dog suspected of mauling owner to death

The mutilated body of a man was found on the bed of his apartment in the department of Doubs in eastern France, it was reported Thursday. Local police believe the victim was mauled to death by his pet dog.
The body of the 41-year-old man was discovered by a neighbour late on Tuesday afternoon, stretched out on his bed with wounds to the neck and chest.
His pet dog, a Boxer, was also found in the apartment in the town of Hérimoncourt, and according to a report in Le Parisien on Thursday. Police investigators suspect the animal of having killed its owner.
The last person to see the man alive was his 12-year-old son, as he left for school on Tuesday morning.
