New York native Daniel Peltz has hatched a plan to collect the sweat of Swedish glass-blowers and sell it as a perfume to tourists visiting his adoptive home, according to a report in the local Norrköpings Tidning daily.

"It is sweat which I have refined in a secret recipe," the New Yorker turned Sweden summer resident told the newspaper.

Peltz has noted that tourists are happy to spend their hard-earned cash on Swedish glass and hopes that they will also want to splash out on splashing on a little sweat-induced perfume.

"The glass-blower's sweat and work is something that tourists appreciate when they come here and look. So for me there isn't such a huge difference in selling the glass-blower's sweat and the finished glass," he said.

The project is not a pure commercial enterprise - Daniel Peltz is a conceptual artist in residence at the Rejmyre Art LAB in eastern Sweden.

He came up with the project when he noted that every glass work produced at the local Rejmyre glass works contained a little sweat from its creator.

The sweaty fragrance is the result of a cooperation with the local glass-blowers, who were happy to provide a slightly unorthodox fruit of their labours.

"Very different. We normally strive after perfection, now it was about the process," said Elin Jonsson at Rejmyre glass works to the newspaper.
