Swedes find bedroom sex 'most romantic'

While Swedes have long been subjected to a reputation as wild and uninhibited when it comes to sex, a new survey has revealed they may not be as daring as previously believed.

The survey comes from Zoosk, an online dating website, which asked 1,000 Swedes what they thought was the most romantic place to have sex at home.

A staggering 68 percent of respondents claimed the bedroom was indeed the most romantic, with the living room coming in second with a mere 7 percent.

“It’s not surprising at all. Sex can of course be about liberation and experimentation, but it’s often the feeling of closeness that people want the most,” said author and relationship expert Karin Isberg, according to Zoosk.

“This is especially important for women. In the bedroom we feel safe and are accustomed to relaxing.”

Meanwhile, further down the list, the bathroom and kitchen came in joint third, with just 3 percent choosing those as the most romantic love making spots.

Next most popular was the laundry room with 2 percent, and finishing last was the hallway with just 1 percent. A further 16 percent answered “somewhere else”.

1,000 Swedes between the ages of 15 and 80 took part in the survey.
