Stockholm's eight most stunning skyline views

If you enjoy a great view, have one day to spare, and - perhaps most importantly - aren't afraid of heights, then The Local's Bird's-eye View Challenge is for you, where the capital's eight best views can all be seen in just one day.

To get through eight views in one day is no easy task at the best of times, so to take on our challenge, be sure to be up and out of your home, hotel, or hostel by 8am sharp.

No snoozing!

Also, try and set off on a clear day for the full experience. Of course, this summer you may have to settle for an overcast day, but that can work too.

Pack lightly with comfortable shoes and prepare for a load of walking, metro hopping, and dumbstruck awe.

This carefully planned adventure allows you to get a view of Stockholm's island geography from up on high from what we consider to be the top eight views in the city.

The associated photo gallery (see link below) includes pictures of the views themselves, as well as information on how to get to each of them and our recommended order for this ultimate day.

So if you find yourself in Stockholm and are in the hunt for some unique views of Sweden's capital, this list can serve as the perfect guide to see the city from above.

And if you live elsewhere and are stuck in front of a computer, then put on some soothing music, nestle that mouse in the palm of your hand and click through the journey virtually via the photo gallery below.

It all begins in Södermalm, in Stockholm's south... enjoy!
