Vigan M was celebrating his 23rd birthday at the Kaufleuten club in Zurich together with friends and two of his brothers when he and one of his brothers got into a fight with a man at around 3am, news site 20 Minuten reports.

The bouncers put all three out on the street, where the situation escalated and ended in the stabbing of both brothers. Vigan died at 4am just outside the club. His brother, Visar, was taken to intensive care and is now reported to be out of danger.

A younger brother, 19-year-old Fetah, left earlier with his girlfriend.

“My brother was not the type to look for trouble. I can hardly believe he is not alive,” Fetah told online news site Blick.

Their parents learned the news while on holiday in Kosovo, their homeland.

The attacker was seen running off towards Bahnhofstrasse and is still at large.

The police are trying to piece together the exact chain of events that led up to the two stabbings, and are requesting anyone with any information to come forward.

Friends of Vigan have said that they know the perpetrator, who they say lives in Zurich, is “notorious” for his aggressive behaviour, and is no stranger to the authorities.
