Their bodies were found by divers in the boat’s wheelhouse at a depth of 43 metres in the Atlafjord.

Six people from two families were out fishing in a rubber boat when strong winds blew in over the fjord on Tuesday afternoon.

The group received assistance from two crew members on a fishing boat belonging to Norway Royal Salmon. But for reasons not yet known, the fishing boat capsized.

Six people were rescued after the accident.

“Those six managed to swim the 200 metres from the place where the boat went down and on to land,” rescue chief Tore Hognset told news agency NTB.
