Viktor Blom Wins Two Big Online Titles in Two Days

SCOOP 2012 is one of the biggest online poker tournament series available and consists of 40 different tournaments, each with three different levels of buy-in - low, medium and high.

Blom won his first title Monday night in the medium version of Event 2, $215 No-Limit Holdem, outlasting over 8,000 opponents to claim the $247,200 first prize.

The 21-year-old from Dals-Ed (now living in London) followed up Tuesday night by winning the high-stakes version of Event 3, NL Hold'em 6-Max with rebuys. 486 players entered that event and Blom received $160,000 in prize money.

Another Swedish high-stakes poker player, with the nick name “Sussie Smith” (the player’s real name is not publicly known), reached the final of Event 3. Sussie

Smith was knocked out by Isildur1 in fourth place and got $60,800 in prize money.

Isildur1 is primarily known as a high-stakes cash game player, but switched focus right before the start of the 2012 SCOOP.

“Gon bad in cash games lately, so looking forward to play many nice scoops now!”, Blom wrote on his Twitter account “RealIsildur1”.

So far the new strategy has paid off for Viktor Blom. Adding to his win at the PCA $100k High Roller in January, Blom now has over $1.3 million in tournament earnings this year and has firmly established himself as a top tournament player.

In a few weeks’ time, Blom will be making his debut in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas, the biggest and most prestigious poker event in the world.

With the confidence from claiming two SCOOP titles in two days, Viktor Blom will definitely be a contender to win one of the coveted WSOP gold bracelets.
