The biker reached speeds of up to two times the speed limit of 110 km/h as police chased him.

When police caught up with him, they found he had equipped his bike with a camera so he could "film his exploits," according to a police spokesman.

The 33-year-old was travelling on a motorway around the capital when he was spotted.

As well as speeding, he committed other offences including driving on the hard shoulder, overtaking on the right  and going the wrong way round a roundabout.

Once off the motorway, he continued his high speeds, passing a school at 160 kph.

He had also concealed his registration plates to try to avoid capture.

The bike was eventually discovered in a Parisian suburb where it had been hidden.

The man was being questioned by police and his home has been searched for other video footage he may have filmed.
