"I believe, with all seriousness, that within the next two weeks I'm going to a kill a child at a daycare," the man wrote in a posting published on February 29th on the Flashback internet forum.

"The desire in me is so strong that I've already bought to knives and take a walk past the daycare almost everyday in hope of learning their schedule.

"My thought is that would be a lot easier to carry out the killing outdoors, then I can just climb over a fence and there's no door that needs to be forced opened."

After the 23-year-old revealed his murder plans on Flashback, another user managed to get in contact with him and tip the police off as to his identity.

On Friday morning, police raided the man's apartment.

“When we arrived at the flat we found two knives that he had just bought. According to the man they were for killing a child,” said Stephan Söderholm of the Lund police to local paper Sydsvenskan.

In addition to the newly purchased weapons, police also found a syringe filled with nicotine that the man reportedly planned to use to kill himself if he failed in his murder plan.

The man, who is previously known to the police, has voiced a wish to be admitted to a secure psychiatric ward but the local psychiatric treatment facility refused him entry and he has therefore been arrested by the police.

A demand for his immediate remand into custody will now be made on suspicion of preparing to commit murder.
