In all, 34 new routes of all types will launch during the year. The company calls it a major expansion, especially in Scandinavia.

Northerners in Andøya and Andenes will have direct air transit to Oslo for the first time in decades. For tourists, it looks like the end to transfers at Bodø to lighter turbo-prop planes.

The flyer's most popular routes out of Sweden, Denmark and Finland will also see more frequent flights, with some 40 existing routes set for an increase in departures.

Norway remains the company's focus, as Bergen and Trondheim also benefit from the route expansion.

Norwegian’s new 2012 routes include the following:

  • OsloGardermoen to Ajaccio in Corsica, Andøya (near Lofoten), Bratislava, Kiev, Reykjavik, Skiathos (Greece).
  • Torp (Sandefjord) to Antalya, Bergen, Berlin, Evenes, Las Palmas, Nice, Palma and Trondheim.
  • Bergen to Edinburgh.
  • Trondheim to Berlin.
