The 60-year-old Olga H., who has previously been convicted of smuggling cigarettes, was indicted this week by a Munich court for allegedly swiping 2,398 jars of Nescafé Gold coffee from local discount supermarkets Lidl, Penny and Netto, according to the Süddeutsche Zeitung.

In most cases she stole 10 jars which retail for about €8. But she occasionally took 12 or more, the newspaper reported.

She made more than €19,000 by taking them to sell in the Czech Republic, authorities have charged.

The woman was caught by a store detective in Gröbenzell, a town of about 19,000 inhabitants near Munich.

She admitted the thefts in court but said she was only trying to help her drug-addicted sons, the Süddeutsche reported.
