Woman jailed for brutally raping another woman
A Swedish woman has been convicted of beating and raping a female neighbour in western Sweden following a laundry room dispute.
The 43-year-old woman attacked the other woman in July 2011 in Helsingborg after the bad blood between the two stemming from a long-running feud boiled over, the Aftonbladet newspaper reported.
According to the victim, she was taking her laundry out of the machine when the 43-year-old came up from behind and started punching her.
The attacker then slammed the other woman's head to the floor so hard that her hair clips broke.
Then the 43-year-old pulled off the victim's pants and underwear and began raping her. When the woman started screaming, the 43-year-old stuffed a slipper in her victim's mouth.
“You know you like it this hard, right?” the 43-year-old said, according to the neighbour.
Following the attack, the 43-year-old then spat in the victim's face.
“Consider it a kiss,” she said.
“If you report me, I'll kill you you bitch,” she added.
In court, the 43-year-old denied raping her neighbour, admitting only to landing a few punches during a laundry room brawl in which she claimed she too was on the receiving end of a few blows.
But on Tuesday, the district court in Helsingborg ruled in favour of the other woman, convicting the 43-year-old woman of rape and obstruction of justice, sentencing her to two-and-half years in prison.
