Lovers' tiff leads to torn testicles

A man in the southern town of Perpignan told a court that his girlfriend's violent attack on his manhood left him needing eleven stitches in his testicles to repair the damage.

The couple, a man of 36 and a woman of 37, both claimed that the other was violent in their relationship, according to a report in local newspaper L'Indépendant.

"He often hit me, even during my pregnancy," the woman told the court. "She was consumed by jealousy," said the man. "She started by hitting me often. It was daily."

On the night of the painful injury, the man claimed he was in the bathroom when his partner started arguing with him.

"She stopped me from leaving. I accept that I knocked her over while pushing her away," he said. "She jumped on me and we ended up rolling around in the bedroom."

"I was defending myself," said the woman. "He was holding my head and arms."

Either in defence or attack, the woman grabbed the man's penis and pulled it very hard to the point where it tore his skin. The result was eleven stitches to repair the damage.

Having heard the couple's testimony, the court retired to make its judgment, which will be delivered on October 13th.
