According to reports in Helsingborg Dagblad, the trouble started earlier on during a bad tempered match between Arsenal Soccer School ‘s 15-year-olds team and a local side in the Eskilscupen competition.

The bad blood between the youngsters simmered on and boiled over during a youth disco in the evening for all those taking part in the competition. Fighting apparently broke out between opposing players and one of the boys from the English team was thrown out of the disco.

Afterwards further trouble erupted and the police had to be called to the scene to break things up.

Carlos Paulsson part of a police youth group said, “It was chaos when we got there. We had to put handcuffs on some of them to calm down the situation.”

The boys involved were then escorted back to Elinebergs School where they had staying and the entire team had to go home on Sunday.

Explaining the reasons for banishing the team from the competition, Tommy Billqvist, organiser of the event said in a statement that the Arsenal Soccer School players behaviour was contrary to the values of Eskilscupen and Eskilsminne IF.
