The preliminary results of the security checks that were carried out in Switzerland in the aftermath of Japan’s nuclear disaster have found shortcomings in all five Swiss nuclear sites, said a report on the daily Tages Anzeiger.

The paper said the Swiss Federal Nuclear Safety Inspectorate (Ensi) will disclose more information later on Thursday.

The report quotes Hannes Hänggi, Ensi spokesman, as saying that the security flaws in the nuclear power plants are not so serious that they require an immediate switch-off. They are reported to refer to the plants’ capacity to withstand possible earthquakes and floods, the security of fuel elements and emergency power supply systems, the paper said.
