Prime Stockholm property changes hands
The building situated on one of Stockholm’s most exclusive addresses has been sold after several months on the market.
Strandvägen 1-3, ene of the most exclusive and expensive buildings in Sweden's capital city, was finally snapped up by AB Industricentralen for somewhere between 500 and 600 million kronor ($80 to 96 million) reports Swedish business daily Dagens Industri (DI).
The building, which is next door next door to the Royal Dramtic Theatre (Dramatan) overlooking the water, has been up for sale since the turn of the new year.
According to the company’s general manager Carl Hirsch, no decision has yet been taken on what the building will be used for, although it is likely that there will be a shop on the ground floor.
Built in 1902-03, the building features around 6,500 square metres of rental space. Current tenants include the Royal Bank of Scotland and Swedish forestry and paper giant Holmen.
It was designed by architects G. Hagström and F. Ekman, who also designed the adjacent property at Strandvägen 5.
