"It is the first time, during the eight years that they have been together, that they make an official visit to the municipality," said Magnus Jonsson at the municipality.

As soon as the couple accepted the invite from the rural Hälsingland community where Daniel took his first steps, locals have been busy arranging for the official return of their most famous son.

The royal couple will arrive in Ockelbo, around two hours drive from their home in Solna's Hagaparken, on May 19th - the anniversary of their Stockholm wedding - for a three day visit.

County governor Barbro Holmberg will host the royal couple at Gävle Castle, over 50 kilometres away to the south, for the duration of their stay.

"I think that had to do with security and practical matters. It is the custom that the country governor play host for official visits of the royal family," said Magnus Jonsson.

Jonsson added that the small community hopes to be able to show off its highlights to the Crown Princess and Prince Daniel.

"We hope to be able to present new and some old favourites for them," he said.
