Separately, another Swedish man was allegedly stabbed to death on Thursday in Patong, according to the Phuket Wan newspaper.

According to a witness, the man was riding a motorcycle when he struck a utility pole and was thrown under a passing six-wheeled truck, according to Thailand's Phuket Gazette on Sunday.

The 32-year-old man was crushed and died instantly, according to rescue workers, the report said.

Tobias Nilsson of the foreign affairs ministry's press service confirmed that the Swedish embassy in Bangkok has informed it of the fatality.

"We have received confirmation from Thailand that this has taken place. The man's relatives have not yet been informed," he told Aftonbladet on Sunday.

The ministry is currently working on notifying his next of kin, the report said.

The accident took place at around 8.30am local time. The man died in front of the Duangjitt Resort.

The truck driver told the Gazette that he was driving at about 30 kilometres an hour and that the ice truck was "running straight" when the victim fell under it.

Three days earlier, a 53-year-old Swedish man was found in his flat with two deep stab wounds on the left side of his back and cuts on his back from broken glass, the Phuket Wan reported.

Bloody footprints were also found in the room, but Camilla Åkesson Lindblom of the foreign ministry's press service rejected suspicions that the man was stabbed to death, telling Aftonbladet on Friday that he may have fallen on something sharp.

In addition, earlier on Sunday, the body of a 42-year-old Hungarian doctor was pulled out of the swimming pool of the Sunprime Kamala Beach Resort in Phuket, operated by Swedish charter travel operator Ving.
