"Now the body part will be analysed to see if we can link it with the investigation that is under way," said Torbjörn Carlson, information director at Örebro police.

As of Sunday afternoon, it was still unclear which body part of the 51-year-old woman, previously identified as Eva Magnusson in media reports, was found.

A member of the public alerted the police on Saturday evening about the discovery 25 kilometres north of Örebro near Bocksboda, not far from Lockhyttan where earlier finds were made.

"As the crow flies, it is not very far away from the other area," said Carlson.

Even though police could see that it was part of a body, the information could not be confirmed until police technicians had examined the find.

The body part, which the police would not describe, was found in the forest in the vicinity of a road. A small area around the site was cordoned off.

Örebro police have received numerous tips in the last week.

"We check up on all feasible and unfeasible information that we receive. The rings quite regularly," said Carlson.

Police will continue their search for more body parts on Monday.

"We do not yet have a complete body," said Carlson.

A detained 51-year-old male suspect in her murder, Magnusson's supervisor at Örebro University, was not questioned over the weekend and will be remanded in custody on Tuesday.
