The Stuttgart company is looking for engineers in the fields of electromobility, lightweight construction, energy management and engine design, it said in a statement.

“These experts will be deployed, for example, in the further development and optimisation of alternative drive concepts or will cooperate in new vehicle projects such as the 918 Spyder super sports car,” the statement added.

The positions are opening at the company’s Weissach location in the state of Baden-Württemberg, where they plan to increase development centre capabilities, it said.

With some 3,000 employees there, Porsche plans to turn the Weissach centre into a leading centre for sports car development.

“Weissach is synonymous with top engineering made in Germany. Additional highly talented experts will help us to further increase our position as the innovation leader in car construction”, said Deputy Chairman of the Board of Management and Director of Human Resources Thomas Edig in the statement.

The research and development centre opened in the community just 25 kilometres from Stuttgart in 1971. It now employs some 3,000 workers.
