The 56-year-old victim was found bleeding outside a pub at 2:30 am and was taken to hospital. According to police, the victim appears to have no life-threatening injuries.

The attack occurred in the city's Stortorget. The injured man managed to get himself to a nearby bar, where bouncers found him bleeding.

"He was conscious and speaking, so it is not life-threatening. However, he had a gash in the back of the head," said Kenneth Johannesson of Örebro police.

The victim was able to identify the attacker, a 50-year-old man police later arrested in an apartment. The man is now suspected of attempted murder, or aggravated assault, and obstruction of justice.

"They have been at loggerheads since a previous incident. There will be a trial about an old brawl this week, in which the same person beat up the other," Johannesson said.
