The chain, which is based in Sweden and has stores in the UK, Norway, Russia and countries around the Baltic and Eastern Europe, has now entered into a partnership with Nordstrom department stores.

"It feels great to work with Nordstrom, which has a very strong position within children's clothing in the American market and we also have our Swedish heritage in common," said Maria Öqvist, Polarn O. Pyret CEO in a company statement.

There are initial plans for outlets in seven of Nordstrom's department stores with the ambition to expand across the firm's entire US chain.

Polarn O. Pyret said that it is looking to expand into new markets and develop in existing ones with an outlet in Riga, Latvia to open in the autumn alongside new stores in Norway and Finland.

The firm is currently represented by 112 stores in 11 countries, of which 60 are in Sweden, as well as web shops in the United States and Sweden.

"Our concept is unique and our philosophy is to make clothes adapted to children's needs even outside of Sweden's borders...We aim to turn the world stripy," said Öqvist.
