Söderling cruises into Wimbledon third round
Swedish tennis star Robin Söderling secured a place in the third round at Wimbledon on Thursday with a straightforward 7-5, 6-1, 6-4 win over Spain's Marcel Granollers.
Söderling was never seriously threatened by Granollers and the Swede will play Brazilian 25th seed Thomaz Bellucci in the next round.
The 25-year-old's recent French Open final defeat against Rafael Nadal was his second successive loss at the last hurdle in Paris after Roger Federer beat him in last year's final.
But, despite those setbacks, Söderling, who defeated Federer en route to the Roland Garros final this year, is emerging as one of the most dangerous players on the ATP Tour.
After a slow start against Granollers, Soderling was far too strong for the world number 87 and he is yet to drop a set at Wimbledon this year.
