Skanska will share the order in a consortium together with the British investment group Innisfree. The consortium will stand for the financing, construction, maintenance and operation of the new hospital up until 2040, Skanska writes in a statement.

Skanska will invest 650 million kronor in the project company, whose task to design and construct the new hospital is calculated to cost 14.5 billion kronor.

The order will be included in Skanska's order book when the decision, taken by Stockholm County Council, has passed into law and a final agreement over financing has been signed.

Skanska expects the deal to be finalised during the second quarter 2010.

"The project covers the construction, maintenance, operation and financing of a new university hospital with 600 care places in the Karolinska area of Solna as well as adjoining research laboratories, patient hotel and parking facilities.
