Palace invites tabloid journo in wedding party mix-up

Håkan Kjellgren, a tabloid journalist living in Stockholm, has found himself invited to a pre-wedding dinner hosted by the Crown Princess Victoria and her fiancé Daniel Westling after a Royal Court mix up.

Kjellgren, who comes from Karlskrona in southern Sweden was previously employed as a showbiz reporter in the local Sydöstran daily and who now works for a national tabloid, was able to see the funny side of receiving his grand invitation to share in the society event of the year.

"The Royal Court and the Security Service puts a lot of work into keeping a track of which journalists that are permitted access to the wedding and then the court goes and sends an invite by mistake to a tabloid journalist," Kjellgren joked to Sydöstran.

While Kjellgren has met the crown princess in the course of his work he does not plan to attend.

"I have contacted the Royal Court to let them know... I don't want to go," he said.

The journalist has however uncovered what he thinks may have been the source of the royal mix up - a namesake employed as a gym instructor at one of Daniel Westling's gyms.
