Ex-boyfriend charged with brutal assault
A 21-year-old man has been charged with the brutal assault of his 19-year-old ex-girlfriend in Kristianstad in southern Sweden in November.
The woman was found badly beaten on the outskirts of Kristianstad on November 6th, her injuries initially classified as life-threatening.
The 21-year-old is her former boyfriend and has been charged with rape, assault, unlawful threats, abduction and attempted murder.
The rape, assault and the unlawful threats are alleged to have occurred on October 28th, a short time before the alleged attempted murder.
The woman was interviewed by police in the interim period before she was attacked again on November 6th.
The woman was beaten so badly that she has not yet been able to talk to police in the course of the investigation. She was, among other things, subjected to a stranglehold and received knife wounds.
