Second heart procedure for Leafs' Gustavsson
Toronto Maple Leafs goalkeeper Jonas Gustavsson will have his second heart procedure in less than three months after experiencing an elevated heart rate, the NHL team said on Thursday.
The NHL rookie from Sweden met with a cardiac specialist after being taken to hospital because he experienced the symptoms during Toronto's 3-0 victory over Montreal on Tuesday.
Gustavsson, 25, will have a non-surgical procedure on Friday to correct an abnormal heart rhythm. He had a similar procedure during the Leafs' training camp earlier this year.
