Warmer temperatures on their way after autumn storms
After a rash of autumn storms, Germany’s weather is set to warm up briefly to summer-like temperatures, the German Weather Service (DWD) reported on Monday.
The start to the week is expected to be partly cloudy and changeable, with the most sunshine in the eastern and northeastern regions. Showers are expected in coastal areas, but the rest of the country will likely remain dry with temperatures between 13 and 19 degrees Celsius.
But on Tuesday a warm front is expected to bring temperatures as high as 25 degrees Celsius to parts of the country. The Upper Rhine region will be particularly warm, the DWD said in a statement. Meanwhile in the south temperatures could reach as high as 23 degrees Celsius.
But the balmy weather won’t last beyond Wednesday, meteorologists predicted. Wednesday will be cloudy with a chance of rainstorms, though southern Germany could see warmer temperatures.
Thursday will likely be cloudy and rainy with temperatures between just 14 and 17 degrees, the DWD said. And overnight temperatures could drop low enough to bring frost to the north.
